On Shrove Tuesday, 28th February, the East Anglian Children’s Hospital (EACH) held a pancake race in Norwich to raise funds and awareness for their Norfolk based project – The Nook Appeal.
The event, which took place on the steps of The Forum, brought together 7 local companies to compete head-to-head in a timed relay race. Within the circuit were four ‘flip points’, requiring the participants to stop and successfully flip their pancake before moving on, any pancake drops incurred a ten second penalty. After a lap was completed, the current running team member had to flip the pancake into the next runners pan, ensuring a good show for fellow competitors.
The team was made up by Rebecca, Steve, Darren and Kim (left to right) and, although receiving no penalty points, Team JLUK came 7th out of 13 teams with a time of 1 minute 32 seconds.
“As a local family business we are proud to support the EACH events with the serious purpose of raising much-needed funds which make a real difference for families and young people in East Anglia.” – Rob McIndoe, Finance Director at JohnstonLogistics UK.
Johnston Logistics UK look forward to the continuing support for EACH.
