Johnston Logistics UK has been added to the Governments’ ‘COVID-19: Catalogue of Supplier Offers’ aiming to support and maintain public services.
In response to businesses and charities offering their goods and services to support the nation’s fight against the virus’s spread, the Government’s Crown Commercial Service have established an online registry of suppliers.
As of 13th April, the national database lists over 3,400 providers offering support ranging from manpower and temporary buildings to medical manufacturing and food.
Johnston Logistics UK joins a growing list of logistics providers creating a web of warehousing and logistics across the UK to help distribute important items such as construction materials, components, medical suppliers and food.
“As we’ve heard with the supply of PPE, logistics is one of the greatest challenges in these extreme circumstances” says Rob McIndoe, Director of Johnston Logistics UK. “With current capacity within our warehousing and logistics operations, we’d like to help anyone in need of storing or distributing important supplies or food.”
With the nationwide lockdown, wide disruption of existing supply chains and the government announcing more ‘NHS Nightingale’ temporary hospitals across the UK, the need for critical supplies continues. In particular, the Crown Commercial Service website is eager to hear from industrial cleaners in anticipation of a rising need for the deep cleaning of buildings.
