A few months after joining us, we’re delighted to formally announce our new Operations & Commercial Manager and some of the improvements he’s already helped deliver.
Iain Hill joins our team at an opportune time, as we welcome a number of significant new clients, become a truly 24/7 operation and have begun construction of an additional cutting-edge warehouse to house 8,000 more pallets.
A career professional in logistics, Iain comes to us with a wealth of experience, ideas and vision. His new role is not only to oversee our physical operations but to continually strive for improvements in efficiency and the satisfaction of our diverse range of clients.
Discussing his new position, Iain says, “It’s a fantastic opportunity to be working for what is quickly becoming one of the UK’s leading logistics providers. I’ve come from a process-led background, so I’m excited to be helping implement changes which will continue Johnston Logistics UK’s leadership in efficiency and services. They already have such a great team with a strong customer focus, so it’s a perfect foundation for my role and playing my part in their success.”
Formally General Manager for a third-party logistics provider, Iain was instrumental in their dramatic growth. He states he was drawn to Johnston Logistics UK because of our size, experience and the huge potential for expansion at our Snetterton site.
Iain is particularly interested in the changing habits of UK shoppers and the exponential growth in pick and pack and ecommerce fulfilment. “I’ve been involved in lots of process changes to enable my prior employer to handle much greater volumes of orders. Customer expectations are driving change and same-day delivery may soon become the norm. With Johnston Logistics UK, we can really be at the forefront when it comes to delivering the services our clients and their customers demand”.
The benefits of Iain’s addition to our senior team has already been felt as he’s concentrated on helping integrate new technology and lead operations to deliver process improvements that benefit both the team and our clients. With uncertainty around Brexit putting pressure on many businesses, he’s also been leading the team in quickly delivering logistics solutions to mitigate the risks some clients are experiencing.
