Snetterton based Johnston Logistics UK (Richard Johnston Ltd) is delighted to have been chosen as a finalist in the SHD Logistics Awards 2017.
In partnership with Linde Material Handling the two companies submitted a joint entry in the ‘Warehousing Efficiency’ award and are delighted to have been selected as finalists. The awards, which take place on 21 September at London’s Grange St.Paul’s Hotel, are regarded as the most prestigious awards in the UK logistics sector.
Johnston Logistics UK are expert logistic providers, operating a variety of different types of warehousing and storage of a wide range of goods from wine to furniture, to state of the art technology systems. They were looking to improve operational efficiency while maintaining employee safety. Lifting fragile loads of wine to just over 10 metres in height requires stable precise lifting equipment. The company has been operating a fleet of Linde trucks for the last 30 years and naturally turned to them when they needed to upgrade their forklift trucks.
Rob McIndoe, Finance Director at Johnston Logistics UK said “We only deal with trusted suppliers and Linde is one of those, that’s why we’ve had such a long-standing relationship with them.”
Rob added “Since we have been using this new system, we have increased pallet movements by one third. We are excited about reaching the finals, and the measure of the companies we are up against demonstrates the prestigious nature of the awards.”
The other finalists in the Warehouse Efficiency category are First Choice Group, Tesco, The Wilkins Group, Osram and Vygon.
