As long-time sponsors of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices’ (EACH) annual Ride for Life, we’re delighted to announce we’re this year sponsoring their new Three Peaks Challenge.

In 24 hours at the end of May, plucky fundraisers will attempt to hike up and down the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales to raise money for the charity and their new Norfolk hospice, The Nook.

Participants will begin by climbing the 4,413 feet high peak of Ben Nevis, the highest in Scotland and the UK. Hopefully completed within 5 hours, they will then drive almost 300 miles to Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain at 3,209 feet. The ascent and descent should take around 4 hours before driving another 200 miles to Snowdon in North Wales. A further 4 hours up and down the 3,560 feet highest mountain in Wales and the fundraisers will be ready for a well-earned rest and our admiration!

Like last year’s 200-mile Ride for Life sponsored cycle ride, it will be a true test of endurance to raise money for an incredible cause we at Johnston Logistics UK are very proud to support.

EACH care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Their family-centred approach includes specialist nursing care, symptom management, wellbeing activities, therapies and counselling. At the centre of the support they provide, are their three existing hospices and new facility, The Nook.

Now almost constructed – but far from finished or equipped – The Nook is a purpose-built hospice with an open plan care area, improved medical and nursing equipment, activity areas, a hydrotherapy pool, a state-of-the-art sensory room and en-suite family accommodation.

Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge is EACH’s Royal Patron and an avid supporter of the Nook campaign; “Their plans for a new and purpose-built hospice means EACH will be able to provide even better support to more children and families in Norfolk; a 21st century hospice for 21st century care.”

We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Three Peaks Challenge and hope to announce some participants from our very own team soon! For more information visit www.johnstonlogistics.co.uk
